Dorking Models is an independent specialist shop that sells model kits, trains, slot cars and materials. It is one the few specialist model shops remaining, and it offers one of the best ranges of plastic kits to be found in the South of England.

Established for over 40 years, in store you will find accessories such as Evergreen plastic strip, Humbrol, Tamiya, White Ensign and Games Workshop paints, various woods, metals, tools, scenic accessories and books. They are also main agents for Hornby trains and Scalextric slot racing as well as keeping good stocks of Warhammer and Lego products.

Within the plastic kits ranges they specialise in military models in 1/72 and 1/35th, aircraft in all scales, and a large range of ships, especially 1/700th plastic and resin kits. Dorking Models boasts an extensive collection of the vintage Eaglewall kits too, and these were originally manufactured in Dorking in the late 1950’s.

  1. I foolishly entered an incorrect e-mail address in my last comment. Please would you send details of the train service from London which would get to the closest to your premises in Dorking,to the address below. Many thanks

    1. Hello Mr Lawrence,

Thank you for your enquiry. Here is how you can get to Dorking by train:

      https://dorkingtownpartnership.co.uk/getting-to-dorking-by-train/

We have three train stations at our disposal, all within 15 minutes’ walk: Dorking Main, Dorking Deepdene and Dorking West.

If you’re coming from London, take a train from Victoria or Waterloo and you’ll be with us in under an hour.

If you’re more local, you can reach us directly from Reading (an hour), Guildford (15 mins), Horsham (from 22 mins), and Redhill (15 mins), to name but a few.

And if you’re from further afield, Gatwick airport is just a short hop away. Expect a train from Gatwick direct to Dorking to take around 30 minutes.

For more information, visit National Rail, download the London and South East rail map, and book tickets visit The TrainLine.

      All our best wishes,
      The Dorking BID team
