Dorking to host a fresh new Artisan Market on Select Sundays

First Market will be held 7th July from 11am to 4pm

 

Dorking, England, 6th June 2019 – Renown for its antiques, unique independent shops, charming cafes, nationally recognised restaurants, and farm-to-fork markets, Dorking will be home to a new monthly antique-inspired market. The inaugural Dorking Artisan Market will be held on Sunday, 7th July from 11am to 4pm.

 

The Dorking Town Partnership Business Improvement District (BID) is offering a fresh and ‘new to-Dorking’ selection of artisanal offerings to complement Dorking’s award-winning independent shops, cafes and businesses. Many shops in Dorking will be open for business on the day to showcase Dorking at its best.

 

Dorking Artisan Market offerings include:

  • Junktiques
  • Flowers
  • Vintage Brocante
  • Artisan Food
  • Vintage Clothing
  • Arts and Crafts

 

The first Dorking Artisan Market will take place on the 7th July with subsequent markets for the duration of the year on the following dates:

 

11 August
1 September
6 October
3 November
1 December

 

“We are encouraging all Dorking businesses to open on Artisan Market Sundays,” says West Street Association Chairman Nick Harman, “We hope to attract visitors – whether they are heading out for a ramble in the Surrey Hills or brunching in our fantastic cafes and restaurants – to join us for a unique shopping experience in Dorking.”

 

Dorking Artisan Market will be held in West Street car park, located between West Street and Church Street. Car parking is free on Sundays in all of Dorking’s council-owned car parks.

 

“Sundays in Dorking are one of the busiest shopping days for the town. It is a huge opportunity for our businesses to share their unique offerings with visitors. We understand that customers value farm-to-table, artisanal products so we are working hard to ensure we represent that authentic, local offering,” said Charlotte Whitaker, BID Manager. “Each Sunday will have fresh, new vendors so there will be many opportunities for us to share the best of Dorking and Surrey at our Artisanal Market.”
