If you’re looking the chance to breathe some clean country air and take in the outstanding natural beauty of the Surrey Hills, head to Dorking and try out of the many cycle routes around the town. These are our top suggestions:
The Box Hill Route follows a picturesque section of the Olympic Cycle path and is suitable for all abilities. It’s 10 miles long and gives fabulous views over Dorking and the surrounding area.
The Dorking Circular via Leith Hill route is another local path, and at 30 miles it will take you on a tour of the local area, mainly on side roads.
Finally, National Route 22 of the National Cycle Network comes through Dorking and is definitely one for the more experienced cyclist; it runs from Banstead all the way down to the Isle of Wight, not that you need do it all! For a gentler ride, join at Headley and ride down through Dorking to Westcott to see the best of our part of the Surrey Hills.
